THE
MARCH 26 ROUNDUP »
This
Week:
Mint of Finland (Rahapaja Oy) recently changed its logo and
mint mark from a stylized cornucopia with coins to a heraldic lion
within a circular field. The change will be reflected on all euro
coins produced by the Mint that previously used a mint mark. This
includes the Estonian national circulating euro coins, which are
scheduled to begin production in June, 2010 and expected to be
introduced in January 2011 when Estonia adopts the euro. »
This
Week:
Mint of Finland (Rahapaja Oy) has released
a €10 issue in proof and BU celebrating the 125th anniversary
of the publication of "Työmiehen vaimo" (The
Worker’s Wife) by author Minna Canth, the energetic and
influential fighter for women's rights and social justice.
Similarly, the Mint of Finland will also release a €100 gold
coin on April 6, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Finnish
currency. » This
Week:
Since 2004, Andorra has been under a euro coins usage-only
agreement with the economic and financial arm of the European
Council. One of the goals of the current Spanish presidency of the
EU is to conclude a monetary agreement with Andorra regarding the
Principality's ability to issue their own euro coins. RSM will keep a very close eye on the situation and give you more
information when possible. » This
Week:
The release of the two Cook Islands Masterpieces of Arts issues,
Sunflowers and Vitruvian Man, is imminent, and we expect them to
be shipped from the manufacturer this coming week. This would mean
that deliveries to customers will happen in 7-10 days, if all goes
as planned. » Earlier: RSM is gearing up for its 10th
anniversary on May 5, 2010 and is starting the celebrations by
re-listing some older coins that have been sold-out by courtesy of
issuing authorities. These coins and sets are sometimes very
limited in availability, and will always be listed on RSM's
Facebook page
first,
but can also be found in the SPECIALS
section
of the storefront. » Earlier: The Norwegian coin sets for
2010 will only consist of three coins - the only three
denominations minted this year - namely the 10-krone, 1-krone and
50-øre. The two highest denominations will not be minted at
all in 2010 as there is a surplus in inventory. »
Earlier: For some time, RSM has been
looking for a new supplier for plastic
coin capsules ,
as our previous supplier became too expensive. We are therefore
proud to announce that we now exclusively offer
Leuchtturm/Lighthouse capsules in the sizes of 22, 25, 26, 27, 30,
32.5, 33, 37, 39 & 40 millimeters (old inventory will be sold
as long it exists). The capsules retail for 35 cents each
regardless of size. » Earlier: During the last couple of
months, some orders for coins that were supposed to have been
delivered in capsules might have been shipped without capsules if
they were no longer in stock. If this happened to you, please let
us know how many capsules you are short, and of what sizes/for
which coins, and we will check your order and send you free
capsules for your coins with your next order.
AUSTRIA'S
ANNUAL €25 NIOBIUM COIN - DELIVERY STARTS NEXT WEEK
This
year's version of the Austrian Mint's
popular €25
niobium & silver coin
is
now available to order. Deliveries of the coin will start on
Wednesday, March 31.
The 2010 coin features a vibrant blue
color and the theme is dedicated to renewable energy – or
energy generated from natural resources such as sunlight, wind,
rain, tides and geothermal heat, which is naturally replenished -
and seeks to highlight Austria's growing use of these alternative
resources.
